Fundamentals & Principles
We start by validating all of our XHTML markup language, CSS presentation markup, PHP, Scripts, etc. and by not utilizing depreciated or obsolete elements. Our site is backwards compatible from the ground up. We do this to assure our pages transform gracefully and still degrade gracefully in non conforming or obsolete browsers. We also develop our pages for those with assisitive technologies such as, text browsers, voice browsers, braille devices, screen readers or magnifiers to name a few of the possibilities. This allows our site to remain functional regardless of the users browser settings, its ablity (or inability) to scroll side to side, whether a mouse is used, etc. We make it simple for the forgotten users and those with disabilities. Where we utilize JavaScripts or session based cookies, there is always an alternative method for those browsers that do not support scripts or those browsers with JavaScripts disabled. This also allows our site to be forward compatible for new and developing web features and still remain as functional in obsolete technologies and text based systems.
Many of our usability and accessiblity features are quite uncommon in most websites today. We specialize in standards compliant, W3C validated web pages as a starting point. We develop our pages for cross-browser compatability to allow your browser to control how our pages are rendered.
