American Academy of Pediatrics: Addressing Parents Concerns: Do Vaccines Contain Harmful Preservatives, Adjuvants, Additives, or Residuals?
Summary: ABSTRACT. Vaccines often contain preservatives, adjuvants, additives, or manufacturing residuals in addition to pathogen-specific immunogens. Some parents, alerted by stories in the news media or information contained on the World Wide Web, are concerned that some of the substances contained in vaccines might harm their children. We reviewed data on thimerosal, aluminum, gelatin, human serum albumin, formaldehyde, antibiotics, egg proteins, and yeast proteins. Both gelatin and egg proteins are contained in vaccines in quantities sufficient to induce rare instances of severe, immediate-type hypersensitivity reactions. However, quantities of mercury, aluminum, formaldehyde, human serum albumin, antibiotics, and yeast proteins in vaccines have not been found to be harmful in humans or experimental animals.

Product Information Leaflet: GlaxoSmithKline: Producy Information Leaflet: Arepanrix™ H1N1 AS03-Adjuvanted H1N1 Pandemic Influenza Vaccine Emulsion for Injection
Summary: Health Canada has authorized the sale of Arepanrix™ H1N1 based on limited clinical testing in humans under the provision of an Interim Order (IO) issued on October 13, 2009. The authorization is based on the Health Canada review of the available data on quality, safety and immunogenicity, and given the current pandemic threat and its risk to human health, Health Canada considers that the benefit/risk profile of the Arepanrix™ H1N1 vaccine is favourable for active immunization against the H1N1 2009 influenza strain in an officially declared pandemic situation.

Summary: Pandemrix is a vaccine to prevent pandemic influenza (flu). Pandemic flu is a type of influenza that occurs every few decades and which spreads rapidly around the world. The symptoms of pandemic flu are similar to those of ordinary flu but may be more severe. When a person is given the vaccine, the immune system (the bodys natural defence system) will produce its own protection (antibodies) against the disease. None of the ingredients in the vaccine can cause flu.

www.Antrax.mil: The Facts on Squalene, US Dept of Defense
Summary: A few people claim the Department of Defense (DOD) added squalene to anthrax vaccine to stretch the vaccine supply. Four civilian panels have looked into these allegations since 1999 and repeatedly found them groundless. Neither DOD nor anybody else added squalene to anthrax vaccine for our troops. DOD does not conduct illegal experiments. Details and links to independent sources of data appear below.

Canadian Cancer Society: Cancer Drug Access for Canadians Final Report Sept 2009
Summary: Having inadequate coverage has enormous cost implications for patients and their families. With a price tag of $65,000, the average cost per course of treatment with newer cancer drugs is approaching the average annual income of Canadian households. Three quarters of newer cancer drugs taken at home cost over $20,000 a year. The introduction of these high-priced cancer drugs during the past few years has exposed gaps and disparities in our patchwork system of coverage.

Pesticides Literature Review: Systematic Review of Pesticide Human Health Effects
Summary: In recent years, few environmental issues have aroused the concern of the public as much as pesticides, especially in relation to the health of children. In spite of the many published studies on the subject of pesticides and human health, there remains deep controversy surrounding this issue. This report will try to elucidate the results of the many studies of pesticides and health, and draw conclusions as to the true health effects of pesticides.
